Deerfield

Deerfield is a well-established residential neighborhood in Irvine, California, developed in the mid-1970s and fully built out by 1976. It is located north of Woodbridge and is bordered by Irvine Center Drive, Culver Drive, Yale Avenue, and the railroad line that runs through Irvine. Deerfield Avenue serves as the main internal road connecting different parts of the community.

The neighborhood features a mix of housing types, including one- and two-story single-family homes as well as some higher-density housing near Irvine Center Drive and Culver Drive.

A defining feature of Deerfield is its strong community design centered around a large neighborhood park. This central park includes sports courts, picnic areas, bike paths, and children’s playgrounds, along with an active community center. The park is part of a larger greenbelt system that connects to three smaller satellite parks through pedestrian and bike-friendly pathways.

Deerfield is also designed with walkability in mind, with an elementary school and middle school located near the central park. This layout allows residents, especially children, to safely walk or bike to school and nearby recreational areas without needing to cross major roads, making the neighborhood highly convenient and family-friendly.
