They're back!
Yes! After nearly 2 years of virtual real estate events, real estate events in person are back. I'm in Dallas, Texas this week for the Tom Ferry Summit which is happening Oct 4-7, 2021 and in my opinion it's one of the best events each year for real estate agents.
I generally find myself traveling 3-4x events a year to different parts of the US to expand and improve on what I'm doing. Over the years, I've developed some great relationships, learned a ton and it's become a regular routine for myself.

You hear it all the time. On television, in conversation with homeowners and buyers and even see it on the internet. Price per square foot, price per square foot. But what does it really mean?

2020 Year in Review
At the beginning of each year, I look back on the year that I had. I celebrate my wins and do what I can to learn from all the mistakes that I made. It’s usually about me and my achievements & failures but this time it’s different. How could I recap on what I’ve done when there’s so much more happening in the real world. It’s easy to think about all that we lost but then I started to think about what we gained, that was hard. It was hard to see the positives in life but those that do prevail. Those that see that glass half full as supposed to the glass half empty get through it all.
2020 was a record breaking year for me and to say that I constantly saw the glass half full would be lie but I did more often than not.
Who knows what 2021 will be like but I made it through 2020 a stronger individual. I feel pretty good that I can take what 2021 will throw at me.

Tiny Cabin | Getaway House | Running Springs, California
Nevermind the travel restrictions or Covid, we've just been too busy to getaway. We tend to travel several times a year to decompress but this year's been a little difficult to do just that. When my wife told me about this tiny cabin that one of our friend's went on in the wilderness, I said "book it!"
It was nice to getaway for just a few days. Although a very tiny space (hence the "tiny cabin" title), it was super cozy and exactly what I pictured it to be, quiet. The 40 degree weather certainly helped overall it was just a new experience. I grew up going camping. Pitching a tent, making a fire and sleeping underneath the stars. This isn't that. This is whole new experience. This is camping of the future and in a good way and almost something that you only see in Pintrest or travel magazines.
Thanks for the memories. We'll be back!

I saw a video clip yesterday of Van Jones speaking yesterday. He said a phrase that rang loud and clear with with me and it was "character matters." I believe that to be true wholeheartedly and in my everyday life, I try and surround myself with people that believe in this too. I don't care what side you're on. At the end of the day, I very much respect the people that speak up in what they believe in because that takes courage. But the key word there is "respect" and in my opinion that's exactly what's missing these days.
I'm not sure what the future holds and who knows if our new president elect can bring systemic change but I've seen what the present is like and I want change.
I'm ready for a new beginning.
Irvine on Fire _ Mandatory Evacuation _ Silverado Fire
As of 6:39 am this morning (10_27_2020) there has been 11,199 acres burned, 5% containment and NO structure loss 🙏🏻.
The saying, “it spread like wildfire” is an understatement. When I first heard of the news yesterday morning, there was only 50 acres that had burned. In one day, 11,000+ acres burned. That’s insane!
You could see the flames right in our backyard. When they announced the mandatory evacuations, Irvine PD went knocking on people’s doors to evacuate. They were cool, calm and collected. Neighbors came by our house to see if we were okay and wishing us the best. I was able to connect with most people in our area that I knew to see if they were okay and luckily everyone got out & had a place to go.
Can’t thank our @cityofirvine, @irvinepolice, @irvinepolicedepartment, @ocsheriff, @calfire, @ocfireauthority enough and all the men & women on the front lines 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. We’re praying for the 2-3 firefighters that are in critical condition.
This was our big week. After waiting nearly all year, this was the week we were planning to move. Unfortunately with the evacuation orders still in place, we’ll be delayed but more importantly, we’re glad that appears that we’ll have a place to move to. We’re praying and holding on.

VLOG | Working through COVID-19 | Real Estate
It's been nearly a month since Real Estate was considered an essential service and I've been doing what I can since then to continue to work. It hasn't been easy. Especially when a stay in order goes into effect and literally ALL of your clientele has to put a pause on their plans. In some ways, it was nice to take a break and spend time with the family but the responsibilities of life sets in and I know that I could be in real trouble if I don't get back on the horse. So everyday I set out a plan and worked. Set daily goals for myself because I knew that every little task that I completed was going to get me that much ahead of the competition. Here I am, at the end of April and I turned what could have been an awful month to something great. Now I have momentum going into the rest of the year. Let's do this!

It’s been 10 days since the tragic death of Kobe, his daughter Gigi and 7 others. Somethings you just can’t explain. There’s no rhyme or reason and none of it makes any sense whatsoever. It wasn’t suppose to be this way but it happened.
Kobe, we are so grateful for you. My family and I enjoyed every moment that you shared with us. We experienced triumph and defeat with you. You brought us to the edge of our seats and showed us that even the greatest struggle but there’s always a road back to the top and that story was even better than any before it. Anyone could see that your life after basketball was going to be your greatest achievement.
This past weekend, my family and I traveled from the OC to LA. We wanted to pay our respects. It seemed like the entire City of Los Angeles was there to do the same. There were thousands of messages, people wearing your jersey’s and we all mourned the loss of everyone on that helicopter.
We will miss you, more than you know. Thank you everything that you’ve done for us and for all of the great memories.

The Real Estate "Packpack"
Let me tell you the story behind the “Packpack.” Every morning as my 3 year old daughter gets ready to go to school, she always takes her “backpack" 🎒 with her. The thing is, she’s always pronounced it as her “packpack.” Needless to say, she’s rubbed off on me and now I catch myself calling a “backpack” and “packpack” (go figure). Well, I’ve got to say, I’ve taken a liking to it. I now refer to my work “backpack” as a “packpack” in honor of my little one.
Over the years, I’ve tinkered with different tools and I’ve finally found a set up that just works for me. How often do you say to yourself or hear someone else say, "where did the time go?" It happens to me all the time. Time really flies and there's nothing we can do about it. We don't have control of time but we do have control how we spend it and I'd like to believe we have control in the outcome (to a certain extent). Regrets. It's the worst feeling. I never want to regret something that I could have controlled, in business or in my personal life.
